Hello, My name is Evangelist Tom Anderson,
but you can call me Tom. I am not into giving high respect to a mans title. I will Scriptually give him respect according to
his Position as it has been manifested by his charector and works in the office which
he says he has been called into. I
know were God has called me, but I am no higher than my Brother or Sister in Christ. If you have a DR. before your name or a
BDD, M.THD, DDD or 15 other letters after your name I am not impressed. I also carry a Degree, and may be in the Process of
another, but Just call me Brother Tom. (My Conversion) I was saved in the summer of 1983 out of a life of drugs,
alchohol, and many other things I care not to discuss. Paul the Apostle said "let me speak as a fool" and to go into
my life of sin would be exactly that. I saw many of my friends die and go to hell before I was saved, and justly I should have
been with them, BUT GOD had other plans for me. God saved me of the streets and now God has seen fit to send me back to
the streets. This time it's going back different. You mght say there is a NEW MAN on the block.
(My Calling) Streets of America Ministry was organized by The Lord using me as a vessel to carry out His work. You might say God gave me a vision to carry out His will of spreading the Gospel to a lost people. We have been trying to Preach God's Word all across America. March 29, 1991 God called me to Preach. I have been preaching on the streets since 1984. One year after I was saved I was getting my feet wet in a whole new area of life. but I was not sure after the Lord had called me to Preach exactly where it was He was going to send me. Was it going to be the Mission Field, or maybe Pastor a Church. I was not sure exactly what the Lord had in store for me to do, but I was in total surrender to His will for my life. After about 10 years of being saved and preching in our local streets I met a Brother in Christ who was involved in a Ministry of helps. This Brothers name was Don Riley. He asked me if I was going to a street preaching event that was going on in Washington D.C. called The Washington Blitz. I told him I did not think I could go, but the Lord made it to where I could go and would go. The meeting in Washington was being put together by The Swat Team for Christ. I had met Brother Sutek and Terell Bear when they came by our Church in Beaufort SC. This event took place about 3 months after the Lord called me to Preach, and it was in Washington DC that God opened my eyes to what it was He wanted me to do. I did not know how, but I knew God did. The Lord put me through the Boot Camp of Publick Ministry 101. For over 27 years now God has been putting me through the obstacle coarse of Street Ministry and Public Evangelizing, and this is what I have been teaching other Christians to do.
The Homeless Outreach is a large part of our Ministry now since my health took a turn for the worst in 2004. I had an
aortic dissection. After being flown to MUSC I was
Medical Center, The Surgeon and everyone were standing by inthe Operating room. After the Surgery the Surgeon told my wife I would be
Brain dead because of the Oxygene loss to the brain. My wife Prayed for me as I layed in ICU. By Gods Amazing Grace I woke up
and not Brain dead. I told the Doctor that Brain dead has been my life, and so their was no worries about the Oxygene loss.
I had to under go several surgeries since then and 2010 I had 4 Major Surgeries, and now I am back to normal good health.
I faced death to its Face and while on life support I remember hanging in the thin strands between Life and Death, and almost giving up
but God would not let me. The Lord brought to mind my Family, and The Ministry, and the Souls that needed the Gospel. So I fought
to stay alive and I know Gods Grace brought me through. You can ask me all you wantconcerning the Ministry, but let me tell you about Gods
Grace. I want to do more now than I ever have before. God has been so Wonderful, and He stood by me every minute. I serve God because I Love Him.
(My Companions) I am married to my wife Lois, and my wife and I have 7 children. My childrens names are Christian, Marie, Rebekah, Sarah, Stephen, Tommy, and Timmy. For 8 years my children, my wife and myself lived on a 40 foot converted Greyhound Bus that was given to us by Mt. Hope Baptist Church. Living conditions were very tight to say the least. When we first started out on the road we only had 5 children, and after almost 6 years on the road my wife Lois got pregnant with twins. Tommy, and Timmy. These have been my companions on a long, and hard road. My wifes health keeps her from traveling with me much any more. I am 42 years old and will turn another year November 12 2003, and it seems like I have only just started. Time sure flies when your having fun in the Lord. You might say I kind of look forward to getting slaped, sluged, and spit on out there in the streets. It's been worth it.
(Our Challenge) The challenge I have had the most trouble with is getting Churches to see the need to evangelize America. I believe the reson our support is only about $500 a month is because our Churches here in America have lost their Vision to see people saved in the very same Country they live in. We only ask support from those who see a need and have a love for that sinner on the street that needs to be saved. No we are not going to Beg. We say support what you believe in. I say it's time to get the Vision back in our life as a Priority, because Jesus Christ is not only worth it, but He is soon to come back, and get His Church, and then all the supporting and serving is over with. You might say
"what we have written we have written".
